Training & Courses
All training through the American Accent Institute is offered on either an INDIVIDUAL or GROUP basis. Group training consists of two to five participants in order to maximize each person’s success. In addition, training and instruction is conducted either at AAI’s training classrooms in Santa Barbara, California, via webcam or on-site at your company or corporate facility. Individuals with more significant accents may require additional training sessions outside of the selected training course in order to maximize results.
2 Day WEEKEND Accent Reduction Training -

GROUP IMMERSION ProgramThis training course is a comprehensive and customized group accent reduction training program. Participants will meet for 2 days of accent training over a weekend for a total of 15 hours of training. This intensive is exclusively for clients with limited training time available and intended for individuals desiring an accelerated training program. It is also ideal for companies and institutions wishing to provide convenient, in-house training for their employees. It is geared for individuals who are fluent in English but wish to significantly improve their American accent. This program emphasizes pronunciation practice for foreign-born individuals of any language background.

15 Week Accent Reduction Training -

This training course is a comprehensive and customized accent reduction training program that meets once per week for thirteen weeks and is geared for individuals who are fluent in English but wish to improve their pronunciation of standard American English. This program emphasizes pronunciation practice for foreign-born individuals of any language background.

4 Week Intonation & Melody CourseSchedule: To be determined by both the client and the instructor Includes screening, course booklet, handouts, and weekly MP3 downloads. Call for INDIVIDUAL, GROUP or CORPORATE tuition rates (3-5 participants). **Individuals who wish to continue on to other courses may apply this tuition towards one of any of the comprehensive courses within one year of completing this short course** |
This training course is an introduction to accent reduction that meets once per week for four weeks. It is geared for individuals who are fluent in English but wish to improve their pronunciation of standard American English. This introduction program emphasizes general pronunciation practice while heavily focusing on American Melody and Intonation (rhythm and pitch). It is a short-course designed for individuals who have mild accent needs as well as for people who have time constraints. It is especially intended for clients who wish to obtain an overview to accent reduction prior to continuing with one of the comprehensive accent reduction training programs.

Location of Classes
All classes and training for the GROUP IMMERSION program are offered in-house at your company or educational institution. Individual accent training sessions are conducted via webcam through SKYPE. For more information see Webcam Training.
Webcam Training
We offer individual or small group instruction via webcam in order to accommodate the busy or distant client. The technology used is for both Mac and PC users with the aide of our recommended webcam so that the highest sound and visual quality can be achieved. Rental of a webcam is also an option. AAI uses Skype (www.skype.com) for all domestic and international, no-cost, unlimited use, webcam, video-to-video conferencing service. Basic system requirements for both Mac and Window users include: Logitech high quality video webcam, dual core processor, fast broadband connection and the latest version of Skype.
